I finally made it to Google's front page! (now I'm on P.2 WTF)

Right now I'm 3rd on the 2nd page for the keyword that I was aiming for. I was 8th on the 1st page last week. Getting to the top will be difficult. I may not be able to make but I'm going to try. It took me awhile. It's been about 2 years. This was my 1st attempt to get a site on Google's front page. I've started a guide here to tell you how I did it.

  1. Submit your url to Google (duh!) http://www.google.com/addurl/
  2. Integrate desired keywords into site (more on this later).
  3. Create a Google Webmasters Tools account https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools
  4. Fix things that Google Webmasters Tools recommends
  5. Exchange links with similar sites. (I use http://linkex.dk/ )

After submitting your url to Google it may take up to two weeks to see your site on Google (sometimes faster; sometimes slower). When I 1st noticed my site on google it was on the 14th page of my keyword search.

To increase my position I thought that I would need to add more quality data and keywords. That was a mistake! I beefed up the content and added more of my targeted keywords in as many places as I could. Then after a month or so I noticed I actually dropped down to page 15 of my desired keyword search.

I'm not sure about the time that it takes for Google's engine to recognize changes. Sometimes it can take 2 weeks or a month before I see the effects of changes that I've made. This has made it difficult to realize the effects of implementations that I've made.

Anyways, back to my mistake. I ended up putting in way too many of my desired targeted keyword. It's another gray area in Google's system. I don't know how Google can tell but they prefer "quality content". If you just had a page with your desired keyword all over it; Google would knock your position down for sure.

More to come soon...
